Application of Nanotechnology In Cosmetics

fashion img

Always look 10 years younger by using the nanotechology in cosmetics. Sooner or later, nanotechnology may assist us reverse aging at a cellular level. Until then, we’ll have to be content with the ways that nanotechnology is being utilized in cosmetics to keep our skin extra young and offer protection from damaging sunlight.
Nanotechnology applications in cosmetics and skin care include:Sunscreen, zinc oxide nanoparticles are being used to obstruct ultraviolet rays while diminishing the white coating on the skin.

Nanoparticles generated by ivy plants are also being used in sunscreen as researchers have proved that these ivy nanoparticles are further efficient than oxide nanoparticles in blocking ultraviolet rays.

To thwart aging of the skin proteins derived from stem cells are used in skin creams. These proteins are encapsulated in liposome nanoparticles , which further merges with the membranes of skin cells to permit the delivery of the proteins.

Nanoemulsions have proved to be more useful for Skin care lotions. All the nutrients are enclosed in nanoparticles, which are suspended in a liquid thus forming a nanoemulsion. Due to the smaller size of the nanoparticles as compared to particles in usual emulsions, allows the nanoparticles to infiltrate deeper into the skin, distributing the nutrients to more layers of skin cells.
For hair growth products, nanoparticles called as ethosomes are being used for better delivery of nutrients which promotes hair growth. There are various companies that are using nanotechnology in their product which has resulted not only in the enhancement of their product, but has also lead to the development of the company. Few of the companies are: L’Oreal, Avon, Olay brand etc.
